Salah Dazzles Liverpool As Spurs Stun 6-3

LONDON: Liverpool moved four points clear at the top of the English Premier League (EPL) when Mohamed Salah brilliantly drove a memorable 6-3 win over Tottenham earlier this morning.

Salah put in a commendable display featuring two goals and two assists as Arne Slot’s men feasted on goals in north London.

Liverpool took the opportunity after second-placed Chelsea drew 0-0 at Everton last night to cement their status as hot contenders for the championship heading into the Christmas period.

Tottenham found no response to Liverpool’s pressing and prowess with passing and movement, with Egyptian star Salah driving their dangerous attack.

One of the only EPL players to reach double figures in goals (15) and assists (11) this season.

The 32 year old player is now Liverpool’s fourth highest goalscorer with 229 goals.

Two goals allowed him to move past Billy Liddell, with only Ian Rush (346), Roger Hunt (285) and Gordon Hodgson (241) ahead of him.

Salah’s latest career offering simply demands an urgent need to resolve his future, with the striker’s current contract set to expire at the end of this season.

He is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from this January and he has suggested at times this could be his last season at Anfield.

With Salah scoring 18 goals in all matches, Liverpool have been brilliant since Slot arrived from Feyenoord to replace Jurgen Klopp at the end of last season.

Klopp helped Liverpool win the EPL championship last time out in 2020 and he looks even stronger Slot will match that success in his maiden campaign.

The Reds have won 21 of their 25 games in all of Slot’s reign and are one game shy of Chelsea from strengthening their lead in the title race.

It was a stunning display of Liverpool’s strength as Luis Diaz and Alexis Mac Allister scored to allow them to take the lead.

Dominik Szoboszlai grabbed Liverpool’s third just before the break and Salah took over with two goals after the break before Diaz struck again.

Penalized because manager Ange Postecoglou stuck to his principle of having the defense play slightly higher, it was the first time in 10 years that Tottenham had conceded five or more goals in an EPL campaign.

An eighth league defeat of the season saw Tottenham languish in 11th place as the pressure mounted for Postecoglou.
