MANCHESTER: Ruben Amorim is aware that he is at risk of being fired if he fails to end Manchester United’s series of poor performances.

Amorim lost five of his 10 games and saw United slip to 14th in the Premier League since the club signed him from Sporting Lisbon for 9.2 million pounds.

After United sacked sporting director Dan Ashworth after just 159 days in the post – and Sporting sacked Amorim’s replacement Joao Pereira on Christmas Day – the 39-year-old admitted he too would not be let go.

“I am aware of my situation. The manager of Manchester United can never feel comfortable.

“I know that if we don’t win, every driver is in danger. I like it, because I understand the demands of this job.

“You can question that I’ve only been here a month and only had four training sessions, but we didn’t win. That’s the reality and I’m comfortable with it,” said Amorim.
